Redstone Hall School prepares to open

You might have noticed our school recently mentioned in the Ipswich Star!🏫✨

We’re thrilled to announce that Redstone Hall School will officially open its doors early this spring in central Ipswich.

Originally built in 1399, the historic building has been an educational setting for most of its existence. Our newly renovated and refurbished school will have capacity for 30 pupils aged between 7-16 and will welcome local pupils with special educational needs and disabilities, including those with social, emotional and mental health challenges.

Our school has been named after Lilian Jane Redstone (1885 – 1955), an Ipswich archivist, preserver of records and author who received an MBE in 1919 for her efforts working with historical records in World War I.

Tanya Fuller, our wonderful new head teacher here at Redstone School, is looking forward to embedding the school in the community and providing an environment where ‘children have the security and trust to develop.’

Tanya said: “At my last school we had a high percentage of children with SEND which is where I developed a love for supporting children with additional needs. I believe all young people have a right to education and for some pupils, mainstream provision can be challenging and not allow them the space to develop personally or academically.”

We’re proud to bring this much-needed provision to the Ipswich community, a place where every child is supported and can thrive.
